Human rights defender and a representative of independent union gathering self-employed individuals in Pinar del Río, Gisela Padin Perera, was about to leave for Buenos Aires, Argentina, in order to attend a training organized by CADAL. Mrs. Padin went to check-in as usually. When she got to the immigration office, she was stopped by a person in charge who immediately called a respective official on duty. The official took her to an office where he informed her that she could not travel. Mrs. Padin asked about the reason explaining such decision, but the officials replied that she should know that. Without any further explonation, she got back her passport and was invited to leave the airport.
