Independent journalist prevented from participating in a training in Argentina

On Saturday, 2 March 2019, Madelyn Rodríguez Martín went to the José Martí International Airport in order to catch her flight no. CM219 to Panamá at 11:45 am. The reason for her travel was a training in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which she was supposed to attend. When she got her boarding pass and she checked her luggage, she proceeded to the migration office. When she presented her ID, the official on duty called his superior and Madelyn was invited to follow them to their office at the airport. There, she was informed she could not travel and since they are just an executing authority and not an administration body of the state, they do not know the reason why she was restricted from leaving the country. Then, she got back her passport and had to return home.
