The activist of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU) Carlos Manuel Delgado Espinosa was detained by the major of the Department of State Security (DSE) Antonio Rodríguez and by Captain and sector chief Gianny Clape Rodríguez, when he was at his mother-in-law's house. The activist was detained because he allegedly knew who wrote on the walls of the booth where the water pump is located in the neighborhood of Bermejal. The activist was detained at 1pm and taken to the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) unit where he remained under intense interrogation by the head of the DSE confrontation, Major Alfredo Oliveros. This officer, who is well known in the municipality for the cruelty with which he treats human rights activists and political opponents, is known to have been arrested at 1 pm and taken to the National Revolutionary Police (PNR) unit where he remained under intense interrogation by the DSE's chief of confrontation, Major Alfredo Oliveros. Major Oliveros wanted the activist to tell him that the person who sent the anti-government signs to be written had been the activist Keyber Rodriguez. However, the activist told the officer that he couldn't say that because he hadn't seen Keyber in more than 15 days, and that he couldn't tell lies, especially against a brother in the cause. The Major tried to blackmail the activist by telling him that if he did not say what they were asking him to say, they would prosecute him for a crime of enemy propaganda, because they had evidence of the times he had distributed printed matter on the streets and also of the times he had placed stickers in public places in the city. In spite of the threats, the activist refused to lie, so the Major told him that they would be watching him and that when he made the slightest mistake he would regret it for the rest of his life, that he should remember that he already had an open file and that the only thing missing was for them to take him to the prosecutor's office, that he should not worry that they would find the person who wrote the sign. The activist was released at 9 pm after spending more than 9 hours under intense interrogation where there was no lack of threats, psychological abuse, and offenses of all kinds (including against members of his closest family, which affected him particularly for having directly referred to his daughter's morality). In addition, he was warned that if they found out that he was the one who had written the signs or knew who the author was, there would also be consequences and that they would be watching out for him.
