For lack of information to file a complaint, young Cuban man remains at the mercy of his attacker

Mariano Damián was walking with another adolescent who is his friend, with the aim of going to a party. When he arrived at Crombet and Martí street, an 18-year-old young man began to offend him and tried to wound him with a file (a craft knife). Mariano ran away from the attacker and looked for a patrol car that was found a few meters from the place. The patrol car took him to the Park 24 unit, and they called his father to pick him up and take him home. When the father arrived, he wanted to file a complaint against the attacker, who he knew the identity of. The officer who was on duty told him that the complaint could not be made there because he was a minor, and that he had to go the next day to the 8 south and 3 west unit. The father went to the aforementioned unit the next day and was told that no such complaints were not made there. In both places, they misinformed him and as a result, they could not file a complaint against the offender. After this, Mariano has continued to see the attacker on the street and has had to flee from him, fearing further reprisals, so he feels unprotected.
