Man from Guantánamo detained and threatened with being prosecuted



Daniel Osorio Legra was summoned by a local chief of police. The official threatened Daniel, that as he was involved in the incident with the statue of the national hero José Martí on 28 January, he would be prosecuted for being in touch with a member of the opposition in the province. The official also said that he woud not let these things happen in his province. Osoria Legra replied that in order to express what he thought regarding the situation of the Cuban population, he did not have to count on the opposition members, however he was indeed supporting them for 100 %. Then the officers on duty took him to a prison cell. He was kept there for more than four hours and then released with a warning.
