In the morning, 10 December 2020, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Bartolo Cantillo Romero, was about to leave for a celebration of the Human Rights Day in Guantánamo. Suddenly, the Moncada and 3 Sur Streets were surrounded by police to assure that nobody can enter or leave the building in order to participate in the peaceful event. Moreover, the house had been already put under surveillance the day before when State Security official Sergio along with other officials and Rapid Response groups were placed there, carrying baseball bats and threatening the people in the house.
