Lady in White from Jovellanos detained by the State Security and threatened

A human rights defender and a member of the Ladies in White, Aleida Caridad Cofiño Rivera, was detained on 2 December 2018 right at the door of her house when she was about to attend the Mass in order to pray for the release of the political prisoners. The detention was carried out by the State Security agents, the officials known as Ramón and Tapanes. She was then taken to the police station in the municipality of Carlos Rojas where she was kept in detention from 8 am until 12:30 pm. Before her release, she was threatened and warned to stop her activism otherwise the repression would become stronger.
