Activist from Guantánamo detained while heading to Mass



Bartolo Cantillo Romero is a human rights activist and colaborates with the movement Ladies in White. On 13 January 2019, at 6 am, he was heading to the Santa Catalina de Ricci Church where he was planning to attend the Sunday Mass. When he was passing through the Los Maceos Street and 3 Sur, the State Security (DSE) officials known as Kevin or Jefferson and Víctor Víctor together with two unknown policemen, detained him. Then he was put in the patrol car no. 208 and driven to the DSE detention center known as Operations. He was released on the same day at about 5 pm without any further consequences.
