Retained and threatened for looking for his stepfather.



On July 26 2021, Walter Cañete Cruz went to look for his stepfather Alexander, who is an activist, after hearing that groups were organizing to beat people who opposes the regime. When Walter left his home, he was intercepted and detained by the police and the rapid response brigades, who threatened him with a stick and a tonfa during and hour, after which he was released.
