Activist detained and transported away from the city

On March 12, 2016, an activist Yonny Figuereda Pileta was on his way to attend Mass in Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba province. The Mass was carried out to demand the release of political prisoners and to end police oppression. Yonny was detained on Camilo Cienfuegos Avenue by State Security officials Kevin and Sergio and the police. He was driven to the State Security. There were several secret police officials recording the detainees. He was released at 11 am in Baitiquiry, a municipality located more than 40 km away. This was broadcasted on Radio Martí and in the Asssociated Press (AP).
