Elaidis attends Mass in Santa Rita de Ricci Church in Guantánamo every Sunday and on February 14 she was trying to participate in Mass as usual. When she was passing through the checkpoint in Caimanera, police officers stopped her car and detained her. Elaidis had to stay at the checkpoint until the Mass finished and the she was released.
