On 17 February at 5:30 a.m., police began a house search at Osmany's house that lasted until 10 a.m. They confiscated his passport, identity card, laptop, two printers, a camera, three cell phones, several kilos of fish, books, documents, and 400 CUP and 190 CUC. After that, Osmany was transferred to the detention center where he remained. The court took place on 19 February. The independent lawyer and executive director of ICLEP (Cuban Institute for Freedom of Expression and the Press) Raul Risco Perez was present causing that on 20 February Osmany was released.
