On July 11, 2021, she was returning to her home in Guanabacoa when she and her husband encountered the anti-regime protest. She was taken to Guanabacoa police unit 14. There she was interrogated and statements were taken. Three days later she was taken to the Alamar Technical Center, where she was coerced to allow herself to be videotaped, showing her repentance, she agreed to leave and protect her children.
