On 3 July 2017, when Bartolo Cantillo Romero, human rights activist, was heading to Santiago de Cuba in order to attend a peaceful meeting at the headquarters of the organization Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), he was detained by police agents without any explanation. Then he was transported to the police unit Parque 24 in Guantánamo. There he was received by official Kevin who threatened with imprisonment for carrying out counterrevolutionary activities and for his connections with "elements trying to destabilize the revolution". The official also said the police is already tired of giving him new chances to behave well and as he was still keeping doing the same, he could be soon imprisoned.
