Francisco along with 4 other activists of the Party for the Democracy Pedro Luis Boitel were heading to the Municipal Court of Colón in order to witness the oral hearing of the trial of Lázaro Díaz Sánchez, when the Major of the National Police Luis Gustavo Sotolongo Garcia and other officers intercepted them. They were prevented from reaching the tribunal and in a very abrupt way, he was taken to the patrol car no. 208 and then taken to the Police Station of Colón. They imposed him an official warning and a fine of thirty pesos (30 CUP). He was liberated after 5 hours.
