An UNPACU activist detained for more than 24 hours in Parque 24

In the morning, on 10 December 2021, a human rights activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Ariolbis Batista Moya, was walking down the 5 Oeste Street and the Paseo in Guantánamo. Suddenly, a patrol car with two officers accompanied by a State Security official approached him. They detained him and by pushing and beating put him inside the car. The victim was driven to the police unit Parque 24 where he was kept in detention for more than 24 hours. There, Batista Moya was threatened and fined by State Security official Víctor because he saw the activist walking with a white bag which means, according to the official, that he was about to prepare a poster.
