On the 22nd of December 2019 in the Maritime Province of Antilla, 22 year old Yaima Diéguez Cantillo and her youngest son were evicted from their home. With the anguish of not having a place to live, they settled on state land in front of the pre-university, but were evicted by police and government forces. When the young woman went to the Institute of Physical Planning, they showed no interest or concern for her critical situation. Antilla has a high rate of families affected by natural events since 1962, who have survived for years in very poor housing conditions without any prospect of decent housing. According to the victim, despite this serious situation, the Director of Physical Planning in the town, who is not a native of Antilla, made a house in record time with a comfortable three-room house in the reparto vista hermosa of the municipality, while the rest of the population has precarious conditions.
