Michael Valladeras Cala is a provincial delegate of Cuban Nationalist Party. On March 23, 2017, he was arbitrary detained at home by State Security official Juan Pérez and an official who did not indetify himself. The officials entered his house, handcuffed him in front of his daughter in the age of three and his wife Jennifer Chirino who was very worried and nervous. He was put in a blue car belonging to the State Security and taken to the Police Department in San Juan y Martínez. He was threatened with being prosecuted if he continued assisting other human rights defenders with making complaints to the Municipal Authorities. He was released five hours later. He received an official warning which stated, that if he did not stop his activities, he would be put in jail. Michael Valladares did not sign the document.
