Activist arrested and threatened after trying to present letter on human rights violations committed against UNPACU leader

On September 23, Leyanis Herrería, a human rights activist of the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU), was detained along with other activists outside the provincial prosecutor's office. The activists were there to deliver a letter of complaint about the rights violations being committed against José Daniel Ferrer, leader of UNPACU. Leyanis was taken to the first police station, where several state security officers, among them Mario and Kevin, told her that she would be imprisoned and prosecuted for cause of attack. After receiving several threats, she was released around 4:00 pm.
