Daimis Leyva Proenza contacted the company in charge of sewage due to its malfunction, which was a problem for her health and that of her children. The company replied that there was no means to fix it, so Daimis went to the municipal government where they informed her that they would transmit her concerns to the people in charge. Nobody contacted her, so she went to Public Health, who came to her house but did practically nothing to help.
After three months, her children became ill with dengue and Zika; they were treated at the Pediatric Hospital of Banes. But they were sent home shortly afterwards due to lack of space and proscribed paracetamol for her kids. The paracetamol was not available at the municipal pharmacy. Daimis called indignantly to the government guard officer, who replied that they would deal with this issue another day.
