11J protester violently arrested, ordered to pay damages equivalent to €57,770 and sentenced to 12 years in prison



The victim was arrested in Cárdenas, Matanzas during the 11J demonstrations. The police violently arrested her, beat her and charged her with robbery with force for having broken the windows of the La Nueva Natural store. The trial took place on December 10 and she was ordered to compensate the CIMEX Base Business Unit of Cardenas with 1,444,251 CUP (€57,770). In addition, although the prosecutor's request was for 20 years in prison, the sentence was reduced on an appeal trial to 12 years in prison.
