Activist from Banes detained and prevented from a participation in his organization's event

On 10 October, 2020, at 5 am, William Tamayo Ramallo was detained in his house. The detention took place with the intention of preventing William from participating in an event in Los Pinos de Banes. William and other activists from the Eastern Democratic Alliance (ADO) were trying to support an event in the United States - Caravana AntiComunista. William was then kept under strong surveillance for more than 24 hours. During that period, he was threatened with imprisonment if even one single poster appeared in the town.
