An activist from Santa Clara detained and threatened by State Security



On 1 February, 2018, Demis Valdés Sarduy, an activist from the Cuban Reflection Movement (MCR) in Placetas, was detained. The detention took place at 8:15 am in Santa Clara and was led by State Security officials Erik Francis and Arturo. After that he was handcuffed and driven by a patrol car to the 5th Unit of the National Revolutionary Police in Santa Clara. There he was kept for one hour and threatened. Then he was released.
