Activist detained when distributing leaflets on the International Human Rights Day

In the morning hours, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Ariolvi Columbie Noa, was detained on the street while he was distributing leaflets. The activist was organizing this event in the streets of Baracoa in order to commemorate the International Human Rights Day (10 December), when he was suddenly detained and driven to the National Revolutionary Police. He was kept there in a prison cell for 72 hours and during that period, he was interrogated four times by a major from the secret police. The officer threatened him with imprisonment if he did not tell him who was responsible for the distribution of the leaflets. The activist replied that as an activist, he was obliged to take actions like this. Ariolvi was kept in the same prison cell until his release. He received an official warning for not having a pemanent job and his anti-revolution positions.
