Activist from Artemisa Province prevented from leaving Cuba



Reinaldo Escobar Casas is an independent journalist. On 27 January 2020, he was about to travel abroad from the Terminal 3 at the José Martí International Airport in Havana. However, when he approached the airport desk no.13, he was informed about a travel regulation issued by an unknown authority, without explained the reason. The airport employee only told him that his travel status was regulated and he could not leave the country. After that, when the victim tried to get more information about the situation at the respective office, he was just told that his status had been regulated for reasons of public interest.
