On Sunday, 12 January 2020 at 6:30 am, an independent lawyer Madelyn Rodríguez Martín was about to travel to Buenos Aires, Argentina, with the intention of participating in a training carried out by the Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL). When she approached the migration officers at the José Martí International Airport in Havana, they did not allow he to continue her way and informed her that she had been banned from leaving the country and would not be able to travel.
