Activist prevented from leaving the country for participating in the opposition



In January, activist Adel Ramón López of the Cuban Republican Party was prevented from leaving the country four times. In all cases he was told that he had a "restriction on leaving the country" without giving any other reason. Later, he was told at the Office of Procedures of the Ministry of the Interior of the Isle of Youth that Section 21 of the Department of State Security ordered the restriction because of his political participation in the opposition.
