An activist from the Patriotic Union of Cuba (UNPACU) was arrested while accompanying activist Hilda Reyes Almaguer to collect some aid resources for her son who is being held in the Las Tunas prison. Her son was beaten by a policeman named Verdecía and threatened with prison if he continued with these activities. The arrest was made by Intelligence Department officers Major Maikel Eduardo Avila and Esneider Silva Galindo supported by the Majibacoa National Police.
