A journalist Roberto Jesús Quiñones Haces was detained at the Guantánamo police checkpoint located on the national highway. Quiñones Haces was traveling on the bus heading from Guantánamo to Cienfuegoes. He was detained at 9 am and driven to the municipal police station in Guantánamo where he was kept until 11 pm. According to the official Víctor Víctor, the reason for his detention was his hostile written materials against the government. Except for that, he did not ask for a permission to leave the province. However, such restriction should not be applied since he is not on probation. The journalist is prohibited from traveling outside the country.
