Detainee dead due to a blow on his head

Iván Michel Ponce de León, 45, died last April 27 at the Calixto García Hospital because of a severe blow to the head, which occurred while he was being held at Punto 30 Police Station in Old Havana. On the 19th he was arrested and beaten with a friend, then taken to the police station, where he continued to be beaten. The victim was transferred to the hospital with serious prognosis and serious brain injuries. Days later, the victim died because of the severity of the injuries. The doctors informed the family that the cause was a strong blow to the head with a blunt object, which contradicts the version of the police that says that the victim accidentally fell in the bathrooms of the police station.
