Amauris Avelenda went to El Cobre to participate in the activity Todos Marchamos organized by the UNPACU. On his was there, he and other activists were arrested and mistreated by political police officers Girón and Abel, agents of the National Police (among others Rubislandy) and other collaborators of the Communist Party. Amauris was detained for more than 3 hours. In the end, he was left on the outskirts of the town where he lives.
