An activist from Guantánamo summoned to Parque 24 and intimidated by State Security



In the morning, 21 September 2020, Bartolo Cantillo Romero, a human rights defender from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), was summoned to the police station known as Parque 24 in Guantánamo. When he arrived, he was received by State Security official Antonio. The official issued him an offcial warning for organizing meetings against the Revolution. "Giving trainings and distributing posters in the streets, it is all over", said the offical supported by his colleague, official Lionis, who joined them later. "You will be put again in prison for your ties with José Daniel Ferrer and nobody will help you." This and similar phrases were repeated by both officals for more then two hours. At 10:30 am, they told Bartolo to leave and to keep in mind that he is being watched.
