Human rights activist detained and accused of public disorder and disobedience



Michael Valladares Cala, a human rights defender from Pinar del Río, was detained on 10 January, 2021, at 11 am. The detention was carried out by Juan Graverán, the chief of the National Revolutionary Police in Quivicán. After that he was driven to the police unit to an official responsible for the investigation. There he was accused of causing public disorder and disobedience. Valladares Cala was released on the next day, 11 January, at 4 pm on bail amounting 200 pesos.
