In the afternoon, 11 January 2021, Henry Couto Guzmán was summoned to the police unit Parque 24 in the city of Guantánamo. When he arrived there, he was told that he was detained. Then he was taken to an office on the second floor and told to write a confession that it was him who was responsible for posters which had appeared in the city. When Couto refused, official Luis Ángel, based on orders from the chief of the confrontation unit in Guantánamo, hit him three times to his face. After that, Couto was brought in another office to take fingerprints sample and other proceedings. There he was beaten up again by official Luis Ángel and he ended up falling on the ground. One hour later, Couto was taken to the rear part of the police unit and the officials said to him: “Be careful, next time we will not be that nice with you.”
