On Sunday, 21 July, Celina Osoria Claro, a human rights activist and a member of the Ladies in White, was detained by the secret police officers who prevented her from participating in the Sunday Mass in the Santa Catalina de Ricci Church in Guantánamo. She was put in a patrol car no. 616 and driven nearby the municipality of San Antonio del Sur. There she was left on the local abandoned road in order to ensure that she would not make it back on time for the Mass. After having walked several kilometres on the road, a bus driver stopped and took her back to the city.
