Yusleidy Romero Becerra was forbidden to leave the country and detained by Customs agents at the José Martí airport when going to a Citizen Participation Training in Argentina. While she was going through the customs registries, she was stopped by two agents. She was taken to an office where she was told that for reasons of National Security she was forbidden to leave the country, as they knew where she was going and what she was doing. When the plane left, she was released and told to go to the Emigration and Immigration Office to assess her situation since this was her second prevented trip.
