Activist detained when heading to Mass and driven out of Guantánamo

Bartolo Cantillo Romero was detained by the State Security (DSE) officials known as Víctor Víctor and Luis Ángel or Roberto when he was passing through the street La Avenida and Pinto in Guantánamo. The detention was carried out when Bartolo was on his way to the church Santa Catalina de Ricci in order to participate in the Sunday Mass which is carried out there and to pray for the political prisoners. After the detention, they put him in the patrol car no. 206 and they were circulating around the city with him. Then they took him to the second bridge of the Santiago-Guantánamo highway which is located approximately 9 kilometres from his house. After having been detained for about 4 hours, he was released. Since he did not have any money on him, he had to walk all the way back.
