In the afternoon of 24th November 2019, Yordanca Guilarte was verbally abused by the head of the Ministry of Labor, Mr. Antonio Vasquez Laens, because he did not agree with her taking a job in the Guantanamo crafts company. According to the victim, the head of the Ministry did not want her to take that job because he wanted to give the job to a relative, and used blackmail as a way of preventing her from obtaining the job. Furthermore, the head of the Ministry told her that she could not be employed because, among other things, she was a human rights activist. This is because some years ago Yordanca Guilarte and her husband were activists of the Juan Pablo Segundo movement.
