Activist from Placetas arrested and kept for four hours at the police station



On 9 May 2020, when an independent activist from Placetas, Yaité Cruz Sosa, was queueing in a special shop, so-called tienda recauradora de divisas (TRD), in order to buy one liter of oil, she was approached by the delegate of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), Lieutenant Colonel Héctor de la Fé, who asked her for her ID. When she finished the purchase, the official gave an instruction to arrest her. After that she was put in a patrol car and driven to the local National Revolutionary Police Unit (PNR). There she was kept for four hours and then released. During the detention she was being forced to sign an official warning.
