Aleida Caridad Cofiño Rivera was detained when she was about to leave her house in order to attend a meeting with the opposition in Perico on Saturday, 25 May. When Cofiño Rivera opened the door, there were secret police officers standing outside and prevented her from going to the meeting. She was put in the patril car no. 850 and driven to the police station in the municipality of Jovellanos where she lives. She was released at 12:30 pm.
