On 7 December 2020, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Yoandry Figueredo Torreblanca, was summoned to the police station in the Caribe District in the city of Guantánamo. There he was received by a State Security official Lionis who was about to open a criminal case against him due to his contacts with “counter-revolutionary elements”. “You should give up meeting these people as they can bring you to jail. You can save yourself if you collaborate with us.” The official said to him, trying to recruit him as an informant which Torreblanca refused.
