An activist Georvios Chivas Castillo was on his way to the Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba Province to attend Mass demanding the release of political prisoners and the end of political repression in Cuba. At 6 am, he was detained along with other activists from an opposition organization UNPACU while travelling by bus. After the detention, the State Security officials took him to the Police Department in Caimanera. He was threatened with imprisonment and given an official warning for his activities against the Cuban Revolution. He was released at 10 am.
