A human rights activist from Guantánamo attacked by State Security collaborator



On 13 September 2018 in the morning hours, an activist from the Cuban Patriotic Union (UNPACU), Henry Couto Guzmán, was riding his bike through Santa María Street towards the city center. Suddenly, a man on a motorbike almost run over the activist and stopped few meters in front of him. The man physically attacked him and Couto Guzmán started defending himself. Several neighbors approached them and tried to calm down the situation. The aggressor’s name is Enningary Masa Martínez and he is a collaborator of the State Security. In the Guantánamo Province, he is well-known for beating up the Ladies in White and other activists.
