A human rights activist summoned to the police station and fined twice

José Antonio del Cueto Carreño was a victim of another initimidation on Saturday, 17 October 2020. At 10 am, he was obliged to come to the police station in Cárdenas. When he arrived, he was immediately fined 2000 CUP for "not having the Transport Operation License". Del Cueto Carreño explained to the policeman and to the acting inspector of the Supervision directorate that the reason he does not have it is that a political police officer known as Arián Franquiz insisted on keeping Carreño's license with him. Even so, he was fined. On the next next, he was sanctioned again with another fine.
