Dario Alba Jiménez was detained by a local police chief along with officials from the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) and driven to the police unit named Parque 24. There he was threatened for an alleged crime of hoarding. Alba Jinémez explains that he was indeed shopping in several grocery stores, but it was only due the pandemic of COVID-19 and his effort to buy all the necessary products for his family members and to avoid overcrowding in the shops. However, the police chief did not accept it and started to insult Alba Jiménez. He said that the only reason for buying that many products was his intention to use them for an illegal trade. Then the victim was fined 500 pesos, warned and after nine hours in detention released.
