Political activist threatened for his participation in Oslo Freedom Forum

On Monday, 3 June 2019 at 10 am, Rolando Pupo Carralero, national representative of the political party Independent and Democratic Cuba, was summoned to the police station in Pinar del Río. Rolando was subjected to interrogation and threats by Major of the State Security, Orestes Ayala and chief of the migration department known as Borrega, who is also the Lieutenant Colonel of the State Security. During two hours, Rolando was receiving questions on the Oslo Freedom Forum in Norway, where he participated in between 21 - 29 May 2019. The activist says that the interrogation was full of threats such as if he did not tell what exactly the event was about, who invited him and who paid the transport and accomodation for him, he would be put in jail and the things would go wrong for him. He was released at 12 pm with a warning that his status would be "regulated" if he was invited for a event of similar scale and which discredits the achievements of the Cuban Revolution.
