Activist from Pinar del Río summoned to the police station and threatened



On 3 June 2019, Alexander González Morejón was summoned by Captain Otoniel to the Instruction Center against Crimes of the State Security. Alexander is a member of the Trade Union Protecting Self-employed Workers in Pinar del Río. The purpose of the meeting was to threaten him for his activities, saying that the government will stop soon this little game. In the detention center, Alexander was interrogated and the officers opened a criminal case. To increase the level of intimidation, they took his fingerprints and did smell tests. The interrogation was led by Captain Otoniel along with his female colleague, who were telling him details from his daily life in order to make him know that he is being constantly watched. Alexander was kept at the station between 11 am 1 pm.
