State Security detained Máximo Armeto Gonzalez



The activist, Máxim Armeto Gonzalez, was riding his bike to Guantánamo to visit his sister. On the 28th kilometer of the Jamaican Highway, he was stopped by the police and they asked him for documentation. When Máximo presented his identity card, the Major of the State Security, Cantillo, told him he was being detained. He was taken to the detention center. There, he was interrogated and threatened that if he interrupted the parade that was going on there, he would be detained until the parade ended. Máximo was released the same day.
