On February 21, 2016, an activist Alejandro Riquene Coy was going to attend Sunday Mass in the Santuario del Cobre in Santiago de Cuba province. The Mass is held in order to support Ladies in White and Todos Marchamos campaign which is being conducted to demand the release of political prisoners. At 5:30 am, Alejandro was detained at the checkpoint in Cayamo by Lt Col Cantillo, State Security official Montalvo and National Revolutionary Police. He was driven to the Police Department in Caimanera and detained until 11pm. After that, Alejandro was released.
