Woman assaulted, arrested and fined for supporting protest.



On August 4, Milagro was returning home when she heard that near the corner of Comandante Fajardo Street there was a protest, as she approached she saw some friends there, so she decided to join them and show support. Minutes later the police, military and red berets arrived and intercepted their path and began to beat them. Milagro was taken, along with other people, to the police unit, where she was detained until 12 noon and released with a fine of 3000 Cuban pesos.
